Awesome idea/design and executed so well! Really liking the base as well. Can I ask where you get the bases (I see some are gray too) and at what price? They appear to be rubber and have somewhat of a give to them. Would that be a correct assumption?

Also, when filling the innards with the sculpey are you completely filling out ALL empty space? I ask because the empty portion in the head alone looks like a good chunk of sculpey would bee needed!

The wiring - is the purpose strictly so you have a nice, solid attachment to the base? Thanks!

It's a funny little niche you've carved out for yourself. ;-)

Thanks for posting the video. What comes across to me at least is the high degree of craftsmanship and detail you bring to such a small and unique form of work. Very impressive.

That being said, it appears you have moved almost exclusively into sculpture. Have you given up your other illustration work to concentrate fully on this kind of work?

Regardless, all of this stuff is great.

actually, that's perfect, because i've pretty much done the same thing in my work...funny how calling a sculpture a "toy" nowadays makes it marketable.

It's funny you should say that... Sculpting, out of all the mediums, comes most naturally to me. I've always avoided it because I would never make the amount I invested back when sold, the market was never there.

After being out of work for a whole year I said f*ck it and started sculpting. Ive never been happier :)

That is only sculpting time. Many hours of baking and cooling, prepping colored clay, building a base... Etc. Total time is more like 15 hours...

you're baking the sculpey in the vinyl, or removing the sculpted parts?

amazing either way, just curious from the technical side...

cheers,
